New books released. A free, digital copy for you.
I’m giving you free, digital copies of Becoming Supergenius, Part I: The Outer World. Download the ebook files from this Dropbox folder.
The Learning Project reflects the flaws and opportunities of our system. In this, those who struggle the most have the most to teach us. People don’t understand struggle is necessary for change.
I have a solution: take transformative insights out of their troublesome context and present them in an unavoidable form. Toward this end, I extracted the ineluctable truths from The LearningProject and created Becoming Supergenius.
It’s quite simple: ask deeper questions and find bigger answers. Few people will believe you, but that’s the way it always is. That’s why evolution is chaotic. Success is inventing what works for you and avoiding everything else.

Independent Thinkers
Independent thinking is not an alternative because dependent thinking is not thinking.
There is a big difference between doubting official knowledge and doubting knowledge that is justified because it claims to be official. People who have difficulty discerning the difference between these two statements will have difficulty recognizing reason from prejudice. Most people are poor critical thinkers.
Most people are poor critical thinkers and do not distinguish between what they’ve heard and what they say.
“In economics, the majority is always wrong.”

The virus is a lesson in the reconciliation of opposites and the shepherding of resources.
I've collected my pieces on COVID-19 into a book that follows the virus's public appearance, my experience with it, and its effect on science and government. Most of all, the book is a hypnotic learning tool to strengthen immunity and spirit.
Where does the virus fit in our ecology? What have we done to create this ecology, and what can we do about it?
This is the final chapter.
The rationalist in me would like to say that developing a sustainable ecology is a practical problem, but it's suspect not. It is a spiritual problem, as it certainly is for those who revere the earth. It certainly requires of people something more than a rational commitment. It is spiritual in the sense that spirit motivates action.

This piece connects voluntary and involuntary learning. The first is learning by consent and the second is learning under threat. I want to make the point that illness is a form of learning; it’s just at the far end of the spectrum.
You can learn the easy way or you can learn the hard way. Most of the big lessons are the hard lessons and we seem to avoid them at all costs. That's why we end up being forced to learn them and, to a large extent, illness is one of those lessons.
